We are pleased to announce the appointment of three honorary patrons.
Ian Dyson CBE QPM DL, who was serving as the City of London Police Commissioner at the launch of the City Security Council. Ian played a key role in ensuring that the City of London Police fully supported and engaged with the CSC from the very beginning.
Richard Woolford MBE CSYP FSyl, the Strategic Counter Terrorism and Security Advisor for the City of London Corporation, provided unwavering support to the CSC from day one, ensuring strong collaboration between the two organisations.
Figen Murray OBE is a passionate security advocate and initiator of Martyn’s Law, aimed at enhancing safety at public venues. Following the tragic loss of her son, Martyn Hett, in the Manchester Arena bombing, she has dedicated herself to raising awareness and influencing policy to improve community resilience. A longtime supporter of the City Security Council, Figen continues to contribute her expertise and commitment to creating a safer environment for all.
We look forward to their continued support and valued contributions.
City Security Council Strategic Stakeholder Group
The Board of the City Security Council is pleased to confirm that the City Security Council Advisory Board will be renamed the City Security Council Strategic Stakeholder Group, effective immediately. This new name emphasises its vital role in shaping the broader vision of the City Security Council and increasing sector engagement.
This change highlights its role as an essential subgroup within the main City Security Council, ensuring industry perspectives are effectively incorporated into our security initiatives. The group will be co-chaired by Graham Basset and Ian Dyson, both of whom bring extensive expertise and leadership to this crucial collaboration.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to Don Randall MBE, who has chaired the Advisory Board since March 2022, for his dedicated leadership and valuable contributions during his tenure.
Employee Engagement Group
I am pleased to share the creation of a new Employee Engagement Group, led by Jenni Jetzer, Chair of the People and Wellbeing Group. This new initiative aims to promote a more inclusive and responsive approach to industry efforts and security strategies.
The Employee Engagement Group will provide a key platform for frontline staff to share feedback on initiatives from regulators and industry bodies, as well as to exchange insights, challenges, and innovative ideas directly with industry leaders and decision-makers. Each member company can nominate a representative for each region where they are a member.
The group will meet quarterly, with each session lasting up to 90 minutes. Attendees can join either in person or online, making it flexible and accessible for all participants.
Jenni Jetzer, Chair of the People and Wellbeing Group, stated:
“Engaging with those who are on the front lines every day is essential. This new group will provide a valuable opportunity for frontline staff to influence decision-making and help shape policies that impact their daily work and wellbeing. I look forward to working closely with frontline staff and industry colleagues to make a meaningful difference.”
The City Security Council remains committed to creating a safer, more secure environment by empowering those who work tirelessly to protect it. The Employee Engagement Group marks a significant step forward in building a resilient, inclusive security sector that values and amplifies the insights of its frontline workers.
We look forward to sharing more updates with you as our work continues.
Kind Regards
